On March 9, 2026, the “Law and Business Integration World Connection” — “Jiangsu International Legal and Business Service Hub (Hong Kong) Promotion and Exchange Conference” and the “Nanjing-Hong Kong High-Quality Collaborative Development Exchange Conference”, hosted by the Nanjing Jianye District People’s Government, were successfully held in Hong Kong. The event is an important initiative by Jianye District to promote the international development of legal and business services, establishing an effective cooperation platform between Nanjing and Hong Kong.

The event featured government officials, business leaders, and legal professionals from Jiangsu and Hong Kong. A delegation from Jiangsu, led by Mr. Jia Chen, Head of the People’s Government of Jianye District, and Mr. Yang Jianzhong, Officer of the Central Business District (CBD) Management Committee, engaged in-depth discussions with Hong Kong representatives.

Mr. William Chan, Managing Director of WALL, was honoured to attend the conference and sign a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with the Jiangsu International Legal and Business Service Hub, establishing a structured cooperation platform for professional collaboration between the two regions. This move not only affirms the achievements of prior communications but also lays a solid foundation for future cooperation in legal, accounting and consulting services. The agreement aims to facilitate resource sharing and complementary advantages, providing one-stop, high-quality professional support for enterprises seeking both “going global” and “attract foreign investment” opportunities.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. William Chan remarked, “As an international centre for finance and trade, Hong Kong possesses a well-established legal and business service system. Meanwhile, Jiangsu, as a major economic province in China, is actively developing its business service hub. We hope this collaboration will combine Hong Kong’s professional expertise with Jiangsu’s market potential to achieve mutual benefits and shared growth.”

At the conference, Mr. Jia Chen highlighted the historical significance of Jianye District as the financial centre of Nanjing. He noted that Jianye hosts a high concentration of legal and business service resources. Over half of Jiangsu’s professional service organizations are based in the district, making it a true modern international urban centre and a service hub for enterprises expanding from the Yangtze River Delta to global markets. The district was designated by the provincial government as the key site for developing the “International Legal and Business Service Hub” due to its core financial role in both Nanjing and Jiangsu, similar to Hong Kong’s financial centre in Central. Jianye District will continue to position itself as the “leading area for quality legal and business services” in Jiangsu, providing businesses with comprehensive professional support ranging from legal services to international trade consulting.

Mr. Yang Jianzhong further elaborated on the industrial positioning of the Jianye Central Business District (CBD)., which focuses on developing modern finance, headquarters economy, exhibitions and cultural tourism, as well as a one-stop hub for international legal and business services. As one of the largest CBDs in East China, after Shanghai’s Lujiazui, the Jianye CBD continues to attract more international enterprises and organizations because of its robust infrastructure, favorable business environment, and concentrated professional service resources.

The successful hosting of the conference and the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement mark a strong commitment to fostering collaboration between Nanjing and Hong Kong and outline a clear roadmap for practical cooperation in legal and business services. Participants believe that with Hong Kong’s international perspective and Jiangsu’s industrial strength, this partnership will unlock broader opportunities and enhance regional development.
