On 29 August 2026, WALL served as both Honorary Auditor and a Gold Sponsor of the “Embracing APEC: A Forum on Hong Kong’s Economic, Financial & Professional Services Outlook,” organised by the Office of Legislative Council Member Webster NG Kam-wah and co-organised by the Accounting Development Foundation (ADF) and the Hong Kong Business Accountants Association (HKBAA). In alignment with China’s role as the 2026 APEC host economy, the Forum explored Hong Kong’s role and opportunities in regional cooperation. Through its participation, WALL aims to deepen industry exchange and help enterprises seize new opportunities in regional cooperation.

On 29 August 2026, WALL served as Honorary Auditor and Gold Sponsor of the “Embracing APEC: A Forum on Hong Kong’s Economic, Financial & Professional Services Outlook,” organised by the Office of Legislative Council Member Webster Ng and co-organised by ADF and HKBAA, and held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Forum coincided with China’s role as the host economy for APEC 2026 under the theme “Building the Asia-Pacific Community for Shared Prosperity” and focused on Hong Kong’s development direction in the economic, financial and professional services sectors.

The Forum attracted 220 accounting professionals attending in person and more than 2,300 online participants, reflecting the profession’s keen interest in seizing APEC-related opportunities and strengthening Hong Kong’s position as an international financial centre and professional services hub. Through its participation, WALL seeks to deepen exchanges with different sectors and jointly explore new opportunities for the development of professional services.

Mr William Chan, Managing Director of WALL, attended the Forum together with three partners including Mr Anson Fung, Ms Loretta Lee and Mr William Lui, to express appreciation and support to the organiser and co-organisers. Through in-depth exchanges with industry leaders and representatives from various sectors, WALL gained further insight into market needs and regional development trends, and looks forward to building closer collaboration to inject new momentum into the international development of Hong Kong’s professional services industry.

Forum Highlights: Forward-Looking Insights and New Opportunities for Professional Services

The officiating guests included Dr Hon Starry Lee Wai-king, GBS, JP, Member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and President of the Legislative Council; Mr Algernon Yau Ying-wah, JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development; and Mr Joseph Chan Ho-lim, JP, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury. The Forum featured keynote speeches and three panel discussions covering Belt and Road development, Hong Kong’s first five-year plan, regional economic cooperation, the development of Hong Kong as an international financial centre, the accounting profession and corporate governance, and Hong Kong’s role as a professional services platform connecting the Mainland with Asia-Pacific markets. These discussions closely aligned with WALL’s longstanding focus on the internationalisation of professional services, corporate governance and cross-border opportunities, offering valuable insights for our future client service and support for the profession.
